Calyx Foundation in collaboration with its partner Goldstring; is working with Novo Nordisk to manage media and outreach for awareness raising on Diabetes.
Recently we celebrated World Diabetes Day 2016, during which a series of activities were designed and executed to raise awareness, do purposeful advocacy and engage various stakeholders on Diabetes Mellitus.
Mr. Mamnoon Hussain, Honorable President of Pakistan was Chief Guest of campaign launching ceremony hosted at President House at Islamabad. The whole presidency was blue lit to mark the commitment of Pakistan on eliminating DM. A ceremonial walk was also organized at President House engaging Media, Academia and Civil Society where more than 3000 people participated.
Lunching ceremony was followed byanother major event “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Diabetes Forum” at Peshawar where key opinion leaders were invited to share their experiences with the media, public and the medical fraternity on how to curb the menace of Diabetes Mellitus in Pakistan.
Activities were covered by mainstream media including print, electronic and online. Special supplements too were published.
Following KP Diabetes Forum massive electronic and digital media campaign was launched on national level for diabetes awareness.
